1st race at TMSC

Arrived early to park up
Tipped boat over to sort mast upper rigging as it was all tight ,found the proble being the shackles were in the wrong position, so loosen the bridle and sorted. Did a few other jobs then helped Lizw with her boat. A few other turned up in the club so have plenty of names to try to remember now
Got the boat onto the shore line and was apprehensive about launching launched ok in the end into. A slight on shore wave action I only had the main up so the fist tack was slow , the waves didn’t help as boat speed was slow ,
I missed the start by being on the wrong side of the line
I corrected it and then set off to a mark I couldn’t see, eventually I did spot it and rounded it while Pete and Frazier were already back on the beat .
Downwind was better and with the tide  rounded the bottom gate to struggle upwind to make the line
One lap 52 min the others on f18s did 2. After getting back ashore we cleared up to then go fir a pint in the ship inn home by 2030 a long day but well worth it
Problems were mainsheet came undone at block
Mainsail badly worn on luff
Watch didn’t work
Go pro not charged enough. Both of them
Radio not charged
No tools to do anything
Will get sorted one day

Pics to follow

first sail of the season ....not !!

set off early to park up at the club, got there in good time to see the sea mist gradually clear.
Gareth arrived and helped get the mast up and was nice and easy. then i set about changing the maainsheet rope that dangles all the way along the m4
had to go to the local gift shop to ask if they hada screwdriver which they did
sometime later i went back thanked the girl annd bought a nice caramel icecream as well
sat on the beach in the sun and wished i was on the sea not looikng at it

other ropes were replace like trapeze lines and also the mainsheet adjuster which runs under the boat.
time flew by next minute i knew it was gone 2 so set off back home.
not a wasted trip.after all.

Boat move to Tresaith

on the 22nd April Gareth Thomas came over and towed the boat to the club as my new van doesn't have a tow bar. it was pouring with rain and when we got to the club it started to brighten up.
undoing the boat didnt take to long, it was washed down and put in a berth and tied down
a walk along the beach to take photos and then head home , hopefully will be able to put mast up soon and then go for a sail. pics to follow soon.

ps i did wash the boat after the photos were taken
