ERL goes to Bala April 22021 ERL had its final polish the day before and was already to leave for the trip to Bala for hopefully a good season. setting off early we made good progress to Bala , weather was sunny and slightly cold .The cat boat park looked full so we settled on a spot and then set about getting ERL ready, first problem was the trolley cup broke at the rivits. so getting the boat off the trailer was hard. we managed to do it with a struggle as the cups were also slippy and kept sliding too far. we rigged the stays and trapeze no problem , put the mast up ok then remembered the mainsheet hailyard, so rather than take mast down we just tipped the boat and threaded it thru , which is not easy. we were then ready to wheel the boat to its spot forgetting about the trees overhead. the hailyard got caught in them so again we had to remove the boat from its spoy and tip the boat to retrieve it, then the boat was back in its spot, cover on and then tied down. ERL in position off then for an Adam special breakfast and then a walk along the shore.overall a good trip. the return journey was slow due to drivers going way        slower than normal.

2021 season update

 well over the winter ERL has been laid up and finally in some sunny weather a few remedial jobs were done

seal up mast with epoxy and fiberglass to certain areas as water gets in lower section

epoxy coat the hatch rivets and around the hatches, try to polish the hulls ,cover zip ties on launch trolley, some stitch repairs to tramp , a few rudder bolts checked for tightness, mainsheet rope re rigged and block fixed to hold the rope hopefully.

ERL will hopefully be going to Bala on the 26th April and be left ready for season opener on May 3rd.
